COMMON NAME:                              YABBY   

COLOUR:                                            Green, Bluish Grey, Some with Blue Claws.

LARGEST SIZE OBSERVED:            7.9 cm CARAPACE LENGTH, 350gms WEIGHT

INCREASE IN CARAPACE               Measuring moult shell and comparing to crayfish approximately 10 days after Moult.
LENGTH AFTER MOULT:                69 mm carapace moult shell / 75 mm crayfish carapace = increase of 6 mm (M) weight 305 gms. (11/04/06)

MATING SEASON:                             Around October. Water temperature 15+ with daylight hours 14+.         

MINIMUM MATING SIZE:                  Observed at 15 grams.         

HABITAT:                                            Dams, lakes, rivers, creeks and streams that have minimal predators like eels.
